Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville

The Arts & Business Council is a 501(c)(3) organization that leverages and unites the unique resources of the arts and business communities to create a thriving, sustainable creative culture in Nashville. We create mutually beneficial partnerships between arts and business; provide direct services, key opportunities, and education to the creative community to help them master the business of art; and
we inspire workplace creativity in businesses to demonstrate the impact of the arts through tangible benefits and develop life-long arts participants and supporters.

EDUCATION FOR THE CREATIVE COMMUNITY
The Arts & Business Council educates individual artists, creative professionals and arts nonprofits to help them master the business of art. This program includes monthly seminars as well as intensive trainings such as the nationally recognized Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training, described as a “crash course in self-management, strategic planning, fundraising & promotion.”

VOLUNTEER LAWYERS & PROFESSIONALS FOR THE ARTS
The Arts & Business Council’s VLPA program provides pro bono legal assistance to low-income artists and emerging non-profit arts organizations such as drafting and reviewing contracts, protecting their work with copyright and trademark, and resolving arts-related disputes.

    Through our application-based Incubator program, the Arts & Business Council serves as the fiscal sponsor for several exciting Nashville projects that fit within our mission to leverage and unite the unique resources of the arts and business communities in order to build a thriving creative community.
  • ARTS BOARD MATCHING
    Arts Board Matching promotes dynamic leadership in the Nashville arts community connecting talented professionals with arts nonprofits in need of their service. The program trains and places “rising star” professionals on arts nonprofit boards to increase the Nashville business community’s engagement in the arts.
  • WORKCREATIVE
    WorkCreative in-office art projects bring music, visual and performing arts into the workplace and immerse employees in hands-on creativity to stimulate communication, build teamwork, and spark innovation for effective business growth. The Arts & Business Council’s staff consultant connects businesses with local artists and arts-based learning experts in the Nashville community to create a customized interactive project for their company.COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
    Through Community Initiatives, the The Arts & Business Council creates new opportunities and awareness for the burgeoning artist community through private-sector partnerships and alignment with civic priorities.
