Looking to build your veteran-owned small business? Not sure which program is for you? We’ve got you covered!
This National Veterans Small Business Week, we’re opening the floor to you – the veteran, service member, National Guard or Reserve component member, and military spouse entrepreneur – to talk about your #VetBiz community and connect you with a few resources we think might be worth adding to your #VetBiz community. From business guidance to specialized entrepreneurial training, here are a few of those programs to supply you with the tools you need to succeed.
Veterans Business Outreach Centers (VBOCs): Looking for a one-stop shop when it comes to entrepreneurship resources? Get in touch with your local VBOC. VBOCs are located throughout the nation and offer a variety of services ranging from business training and workshops, business mentorship, government contracting opportunities, and lender readiness prep. Regardless of where you are in your entrepreneurial journey, VBOCs can guide you through your business growth.
Women Veteran Entrepreneurship Training Program (WVETP): Did you know veteran women-owned businesses maintained a $3.3 billion payroll during the last Census (2012)? Since then, they’ve only continued to grow. Through WVETP, you can connect with other women entrepreneurs and receive specific training that enables you to leverage the advantages set aside for both veteran- and women-owned businesses. Hosted by various educational and nonprofit institutions, WVETP ensures you’re prepared to thrive as a veteran women-owned business.
Service-Disabled Veteran Entrepreneurship Training Program (SDVETP): Wondering how to translate your service-connected disability into entrepreneurship? Experience an immersive or hands-on entrepreneurial training through SDVETP. Going through programs catered to service-disabled veterans also prepares you to readily identify SDVOSB-specific opportunities in the business world.
Veteran Federal Procurement Entrepreneurship Training Program (VFPETP): Are you already in full swing with your veteran-owned or service-disabled veteran-owned small business? Ready to take it to the next level with government contracting? Apply for VFPETP to start or grow in the federal marketplace. VFPETP also hosts a program for VOSBs and SDVOSBs looking to enter the international procurement marketplace. A survey of 378 VIP GROW graduates reports an increase of revenue by an average of 54% within the first year of graduation!
