Mayor Unveils $10M loan fund for businesses
A new public-private initiative is offering Knoxville businesses a funding source to help finance energy efficiency improvements such as heating system upgrades and building retrofits. Low-interest loans from $25,000 to $2.5 million are available through a partnership between the city and Pathway Lending in what Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero has termed the “Mayor’s Energy Efficiency Challenge.” “We are hoping businesses will seize on this opportunity to become more energy efficient,” Rogero said at a news conference Friday at the Holiday Inn World’s Fair Park. The mayor and other officials were given a tour of a new energy efficient water heating system the hotel had installed with financing through Pathway Lending.
