Pathway Lending Alabama Director Brian DenneyA few months ago, we announced that we had closed our first loan in Alabama. We haven’t slowed down since!

Pathway Lending is proud to introduce the newest member of our team, Brian Denney. Brian is our Alabama Regional Director, and is responsible for working with local banks and the Alabama Small Business Development Center network to administer the Alabama Small Business Opportunity Fund.

Brian has held numerous SVP and VP roles at banks in both Tennessee and Alabama, including BBVA Compass Bank, Regions Bank, First Tennessee Bank and First Advantage Bank, and he even has experience as an entrepreneur.

“Brian is a great addition to the Pathway Lending team,” said Clint Gwin, President of Pathway Lending. “His extensive banking experience and firsthand knowledge of what it takes to start and run a small business makes him uniquely suited to be the face of Pathway Lending in Alabama.”

Since 1999, our goal has been to finance businesses and strengthen Tennessee communities, and as of late 2016, that mission has expanded to include the state of Alabama. To date, Pathway Lending has originated 987 loans, totaling more than $175 million, to nearly 600 businesses. Our primary focus is delivering loans and business development services in low-income communities and to minority-owned businesses in order to fuel economic opportunity and job creation.

“With our partners at the state, ARC, ADECCA, and the SBDC network, we are working toward originating $5 million in loans our first three years in the state, supporting 50 businesses and creating more than 80 new jobs,” said Denney. “Pathway Lending is one of the hardest working nonprofits, and I am thrilled to be playing a part to support small businesses in my home state.”
