Pathway Lending is excited to announce that Mason Worthington, previously Senior Business Advisor, has accepted the role as Director of Rural Entrepreneurship.

Mason joined Pathway in 2014 as a business advisor, working directly with small business owners, providing technical assistance to support business growth. As Director of Rural Entrepreneurship, Mason will oversee the Rural Business Opportunity Fund with a focus on deploying capital to underserved rural markets across the state.

Mason will work with community leaders state-wide to develop educational programing for entrepreneurs to foster economic development in historically distressed regions. As a Certified Public Accountant, with over seventeen years of experience in the financial services industry, Mason uses his financial knowledge to deliver capital and resources to rural Tennessee. With a passion to maintain small town communities, while expanding economic opportunities, Mason strives to advance Pathway’s mission to rural markets.

Originally from western Kentucky, Mason grew up on a family farm. He moved to Tennessee in 2005 after graduating with degrees in Accounting and Business Management from the University of Kentucky. He previously worked in public accounting, conducting financial audits, and providing advisory services for growing companies. He is a licensed CPA and a Certified Economic Developer through the University of Tennessee – Center for Industrial Services.
